Two wonderful cruise options in Ireland.

I and my husband rarely have similar desires and boat riding is one such rarity. The reception desk at the hotel was helpful and one particular gentleman shoved several brochures across the desk.

The first thing that I noticed in a brochure is travellers to Ireland require no license to cruise the rivers of Ireland as long as they are above 21. This is a wise move that can attract tourists.

The brochures offered several options and we finally narrowed our choice down to two; either we can take the long drive in the Shannon River or a comparatively shorter ride in Erne River.

We sought the advice of our guide sent by Car Hire Ireland and he suggested we choose the drive along the Shannon river  which is 150km long. That suited our budget too.

The adventure was memorable.

For a better holiday in Ireland.

Ireland is a beautiful country with so much to offer, but for a seasoned traveler like my husband who resolutely refuses to visit the places of interest that are widely written about, Ireland offered him plenty to satisfy his ego.

Yes, he prides in finding places in a foreign country that has not been featured in any travelogue or travel related website.

He used to collect rare pieces of information on a country he plan to visit, study people beliefs and culture, their festivals and holidays, food habits etc, much before he buys flight tickets.

Then, as soon as the taxi leaves the airport of our destination, he will engage the taxi driver in a conversation and extract valuable information and tips.

For our just concluded trip to Ireland, he made a personal friendship with the chauffer of the Car Hire Ireland and ensured his kind services throughout our stay in Ireland. The chauffer offered his personal tour of Ireland and informed us that he will even take us to his home for dinner.

Some of the places worth visiting in Ireland those are offbeat:

Farmhouses. (There are many that include Tara farm and Ashley)

The Aran Islands (Take an unforgettable ferry ride)

Fishing in lakes in Northern Ireland (Upper Bann River)

Though we don’t fish, we just visited the place for its beauty and to meet other travels.

If you are planning to visit Ireland, email me for a list of wonderful places in Ireland.

Caribbean Cruises. Places to see.

Even I, who shuns anything that floats wouldn’t mind a few hours in the Caribbean seas. This sudden courage was brought up after I saw an hour of video clip that my friend shot during her recent Caribbean cruises.

The enchanting sea almost emitted the smell of fish and salt through the video camera.  In fact I thought I felt the sea breeze through the monitor. The video was obviously taken with the help of a costly video camera. The picture quality was superb.

I didn’t realize that the Caribbean region could be so vast. My friend visited several islands that include Martinique, Anguilla, Bahamas, Grenadine and Saint Kitts.

Look at the image of Martinique below. Tell me what you feel by commenting on this blog post.

Seeing my face red with appreciation, (it is not my fault that my face becomes red) my friend asked me if I would permit her to make travel arrangements for my family with cruisecheap.com, a Florida based travel company specializing in cruises.

I accepted her offer on a condition that she lends her video camera.
