When I travel I don’t look for anything that resembles my home town, my home food, my hometown weather. Yes, I don’t travel to any place that is advertised as a home away from home.
I mostly decline to take vacation anywhere near a sea. I have been born and brought up near Marina beach in Madras, which is the second longest beach in the world. I have had enough of beaches.
In spite of my aversion to beach resorts, I have given my consent to my brother who has invited me to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He requested me not to cancel my travel plan as he got the accommodation in one of the Hilton Head rentals with great difficulty and persistence.
He sent me several brochures of colorful places in HiltonIsland and the website http://www.destinationvacationhhi.com/ itself was very informative about the various vacation rentals they offer.
Let me see if it is really as enchanting as it is advertised.
Tuscany is located in central Italy and it is bordered by Liguria, Umbria….I stopped my husband before he went on giving me a Geography lesson. Oh my God, he is so obsessed with history and Geography.
When one of my students gave me a gift bought from Tuscany, I simply stared at her because I didn’t know where it is.So I asked my husband but I stopped his boring lecture and requested him to tell the important places to see there.
He took off happily from where he was interrupted and started describing about Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Pienza and Val d’Orcia, the six places that are UNESCO protected sites.
Then he talked about the regional food, culture, music, dress etc in great detail. There are several hotels to suit various budgets; Tuscany villa rentals can also be an excellent option to stay.
I remember reading about Florence, one of the most visited places by the Americans. Staying in a Tuscany villa is appealing to me. Those villas offer a relaxed luxury that won’t be available in any hotels. And the privacy is an added factor in Tuscany villas.
The last time we checked into a condo hotel was five years ago in Florida. The place is called IndianShores. The name was sufficient to select the locale (patriotic-eh?).
My husband is a bird lover. IndianShores is home to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary. When everybody prefers other popular destinations in Florida, we were forced to accept the home leader.
No, I did not enjoy the place, or my son. For our next intended trip to Florida, my son has chosen Fort Lauderdale in South Florida. He wanted to see those mega yachts. He also has plans to take an airboat tour in Coopertown.

France-the dream place to visit is next only to Florida as the most coveted place to see in the world.
