As we were watching television, the sound from the idiot box also made it difficult to hear what he was saying.
He is my sister-in-law’s son, born and brought up in the U.S. Suddenly he jumped at joy and what I saw on the television was not amusing to me. On the screen, a western film was going on and someone was carrying out a sort of crude operation on a horse.
My guest explained to me rather slowly combined with gestures that the horse’s leg was hurt and it was being mended.
Suddenly I remembered that my guest used to work in a horse ranch during vacation. Obviously he knew a lot about caring horses and he went on talking enthusiastically for a long time about horse breeds, horse supplies, horse ranches that he has worked so far.
Though I must admit that topic did not interest me, I appreciated his knowledge and amazed at the opportunities to learn that the
Blessed Americans!
