As an academician, I am used to handle reams and reams of paper. We just can’t cope up our daily chores without paper. However, I am consciously trying to use other methods of documentation such as scanning software, storing academic papers as e-documents so that I too can be proud to have contributed in a small way towards Green Revolution.
I have been lagging behind even the Government departments as far as using digital documentation. Very recently, I was simply asked to scan my id documents and send it through email by the IT department.
Scanners have come along way to reach its present status among Real Estate and Health industry. These two industries used to be the maximum users of papers.
Oh yes, I should include the Legal industry too among the top users of paper and they too have started using scanners to share and store important legal documents.
Still, I feel the legal department should consciously cut down the usage of papers. There is room for improvement.
