The last time I heard about weight loss surgery also known as lap-band surgery was 15 years ago. One of my husband’s friend who was working as a television program producer underwent an uncomfortable weight loss surgery.
He became too heavy, so much so that he was not able to carry his own weight. I mean, he faced difficulty to stand on his legs.
Though, losing weight has become so easy now with a range of diet pills, I believe surgery is the only solution for extreme cases of obesity.
There is still one important fact to be aware of, in case of weight loss surgery. Diet restricts are severe after the surgery. No coffee or tea is allowed for at least 45 days.
I wrote this topic because I came across an interesting website (realize.com) on lap-band surgery. There is something new for people who are seriously considering weight loss surgery.

My friend’s sister had this done. It basically shrinks the size of your stomach so that it does not hold so much food, thus reducing your intake. Right after the surgery, she is basically on a liquid diet and has to be VERY strict on what she can eat, otherwise she can have fatal consequences. But once she got used to it, she is doing fine. She lost weight so fast that it did not look natural at all and made her look like she was having some kind of problem. Those that did not know that she had this surgery was concerned that she is having some sort of problem so she was confronted. It’s nice to know you have friends that care though. She is stable now and enjoys her new self but is still on a strict diet. She confidence in herself and her self-esteem has improved a BUNCH.
